Hi Renee,

I'm so glad you found us. Sounds like you're off on a great adventure! We haven't tried putting our kids in school elsewhere (our oldest is only seven), but let us know how it works out for you. We'd love to hear... We loved both Waikiki and New Zealand - they're both so beautiful in their own way. Keep in touch! We'd love to hear more about your travels.

Just found your blog and love the pics and the relevancy of your recent posts to our upcoming career break plans! We're in St. Catharines, Ontario but my husband is a Kiwi, so we're leaving in Sept to drive across Canada for a couple of weeks, then fly to Honolulu and stay in Waikiki before hopping on a cruise down to Sydney, ending up on a flight to Nelson, New Zealand to stay for the remaining 8 months of our trip. We'll have our boys (6 & 4) out of school for the year, but we may put them in down under if we're settled in a rental home in NZ from Feb-July. Great info on Oahu for us as well as the tech stuff and storage ideas. I'll be gleaning more info as I check out older posts as well! Thanks!

Thanks so much, Gina. We had such great luck with our wedding pics - they were taken by a local newspaper photographer in NZ, who only charged us a couple of hundred to take pics for the day. He did a fantastic job!

Hi Sara,
Thanks for visiting us! We had my dress and Charles' tux made in Chaing Mai a few months into our trip, right after we got engaged. We carried the tux and dress in our backpacks for a few months until we got married in New Zealand.
New Zealand is such a beautiful country - I definitely want to go back. Maybe for our 10th anniversary in a couple of years :)
