Like the vast majority of the world, there are snakes in Mexico. We've never seen one near a cenote but obviously there could be. Have never heard of anyone having issues in all the years we've been there or by any of the guides we've met but as always, just be careful anytime you're out in the wilderness. These days, most of the cenotes are fairly busy so animals and pests will naturally stay away from places we loud humans tend to tread. Have fun!

Guys, I just got back from Riviera Maya. I drove until Ojos but I did not enter on the cenote cause the price changed a lot - even though for the manager of my Hotel that suggested me the trip. 200 pesos per person and also the same for a kid of 8 years old. And 400 pesos for person to visit the second Ojos and the guy at the entrance told us that we need to have a instructor with us.. and just for a snorkel time.
I drove back and I did Cenote Azul, Cristalino and Eden. 70 pesos per person and 40 for the kid.
Besides this, for sure If I had my certification of Dive I could go for it. Beautiful place and photos!!
