The Austrian and Israeli army just use plain green clothing. This is a great advantage when you don't really want to stick out too much by wearing camouflage. Yes you heard me right comma wearing camouflage unless you are trying to conceal yourself in a woodland all the time, does make you more conspicuous because it is relatively unusual and there for will attract attention. In many African middle Eastern South American and central American countries it might not be a good idea to wear camouflage due to ongoing conflicts in that country and you may be thought of as a mercenary or potential combattant.

Military surplus is excess materials that the military no longer needs. Rather than dumping them in a landfill, they are bought and resold, usually by entrepreneurs, at surplus stores.
