You make a good point when sharing your experience of using two way radios when separated from Charles in the middle of a shopping trip or other outing. The built in weather station feature also sounds nice.

My portable router is sitting down the hall from me providing the wifi signal I’m using now. Has come in handy in 3 of the last 4 places we’ve stayed. I bought an Apple one for 99 so glad you know of a cheaper version that’s still micro.

You can tell I’m not a world traveler – I don’t have a single one! I really wished I had a headlamp while doing the Camino de Santiago, though I don’t know that it would be practical in my everyday life. One I would add to the list: this bungee clothesline. Great tips — I need to learn more about that wifi router thing! Who hasn’t been disappointed by hotel wifi at least a few times…
