Looking Down From The Top of The World: In Photos

Travel, by its very nature, is all about a switch in perspective.

When we’re in unfamiliar territory, things that seemed incredibly important in our everyday lives can suddenly see trivial. And things that were trivial to us in our day-to-day lives (like a comfortable bed, or a good meal) are suddenly cherished.

Here are a few of my favorite places in the world to look down across the rooftops.

    Meeting The Locals in Okinawa

If you’ve followed our blog for any length of time, you’ll know that we love to kick back and hang with the locals.

We’ve eaten at local, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, wandered around the back streets of dozens of cities and have made connections with people all across the globe.  That’s what makes traveling so special.

Okinawa Prefecture has just made a video with that as it’s goal. It’s called Meet The Locals.

A Tour Of Morocco Through Our iPhone Lens

While we were in Morocco, we spent a lot of time off the grid. That said, our phones were the easiest way to record and share our experiences while out and about.

We were so happy with how the photos turned out that we wanted to share them here too! So here’s a tour of Morocco through our iPhone lens.

Torrevieja Spain: Not All Sunshine And Roses

Southern Spain has a well deserved reputation for lovely beaches, a rich Spanish culture, tapas, wine and warm weather. The squat apartment buildings driving into Torrevieja, Spain however, gave us our first hint that this town might not live up to what the brochures advertised.

Walk On The Wild Side: Discover The Everglades National Park

It seems that every year, we hear more bad news about the demise of the world’s natural habitats. The words overpopulation, deforestation and extinction have become all too commonplace.

We had a chance to explore the Everglades a couple of years ago, and came out of our experience with a deeper understanding of the diversity and importance of wetlands around the world.
