The color of send comes from mixture of shells and corals, and this sand is cooler then others. All beaches around are beautiful because coral reef surrounding all Punta Cana area. I love DR.

In reply to Christy @ Technosyncratic. Christy, to say we love nice beaches is almost an understatement. Over the years we've had the good fortune of seeing some of the nicest beaches in the world and you're right on the money on both accounts. Chancing upon a beautiful stretch of deserted white sand with clear and warm aquamarine water in a sunny, tropical environment is about as good as it gets for us mere mortals. Nothing beats sinking your toes into that warm sand and then wading into the surf. How any of us can stand living away from water for any extended amount of time is one of life's greatest mysteries. ;)

There’s nothing better than a beautiful beach with soft white sand! Well, maybe a beautiful sandy beach that’s virtually empty and attached to a beautiful stretch of blue-green ocean. 😉
