These all work for us as well. One bonus for us living in a single place for a length of time is that family can come to us. We have had several weeks of "home" coming to Spain and that has been wonderful. Of course they bring goodies with them too! Yipeee!

Thus, pretty much my only blues has been engendered by thinking that I had to return to my real life (not to sound ungrateful because I really don't have anything to complain about in my real life). However, it looks like we'll be away from home for 4 months next winter---a 3 month sabbatical in Hawaii for my husband, followed by a month of travel in SE Asia. I'm already getting myself in a state about having to leave our dog. Some people suggest bringing him along, but he's too big to fit under the seat, so I don't want to subject him to long flights in a cargo hold. Intellectually, I know he'll be fine with the friend or relative who takes him because he is excellent at loving the one he's with, but still.......
